When one door closes…

This will be the last week of Treading Ground.

To say it’s been a while would be an understatement. While most of you have only been with me for the last year or so, I originally started this comic on Keenspace way back in 2003. It wasn’t until February of 2010 that I was able to give it the attention it deserved, though, and since then the comic has been going strong, gaining steam and attracting a readership that has been both numerous and vocal.

But this story was never intended to be something that would run forever. I’ve always had a beginning, middle and end in mind, and on Friday we’ll see that end come to fruition.

This story may be coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean I’m done making comics, or even that this is the last you’ll see of these characters. On Friday after the final Treading Ground comic, I’ll announce the first details about my next webcomic project, including where you can find it and when it will premiere. I’m working hard to get that project off the ground as soon as possible so no one is kept waiting too long!

I want to thank everyone who has been with me as we followed the lives of Nate, Rose, and the rest of the cast. There is much more to come, and I hope you’ll continue to join me for it.

  1. I kind of sensed this was coming to an end. I’m looking forward to your next project, though!

  2. :'(
    Sadness

    1. :O Extreme Sadness :,(

  3. Glad that you’re still going to be doing webcomics, but sad that this is coming to an end.

Keep pushing out quality work, Nick!

  4. Hey brochacho, it’s been a real pleasure.

  5. WAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! but ur awesome and I’ll so continue to follow. I’m excited for what comes next!! Keep being epix!

  6. I’ve only found this recently, but I’ve loved all of it. I very much appreciate that you’ve given thought to an ending; too few artists show that much commitment when they themselves move on.

Thanks for the comics! I look forward to whatever comes next!

  7. Is this comic still gonna be available for the world to see?

    1. I don’t have any plans to pull it down, so yes!

  8. Any chance you’re going to come out with a printed collection of the series?

    1. That’s definitely on the agenda, hopefully within the next couple of months.

      1. Please do it ASAP because this is a must own

  9. A good entertainer always leaves his audience wanting more.

    Well done, sir.

  10. been a blast. can’t wait for your next project.

  11. I’m one of the more recent people to stumble onto your comic, and I really enjoy your style in regards to writing and drawing.

More than once I’ve been inspired to keep up my own drawing by reading your comics.

Can’t wait to see your next project!

  12. Really wish it wasnt’ coming to an end, but I am glad you will be doing new stuff too…just sucks to see this great comic end. Thanks for all the good reads and I look forward to seeing what’s next.

  13. Mike "Looch" Leuchtmann

As a somewhat new fan of this webcomic, I can only say, respectfully of course, this fucking sucks. That said, I look forward to becoming a fan of your next projects. 🙂

  14. Make a comic entirely centered around Purvous. He’s hilarious!

    1. YES Purvous needs his own comic

  15. Follow-up question: will your new comic be NSFW like this one, or do you not even know yet at this point?

  16. They Call Him Eric

Is it wrong for me to home for gratuitous nudity for the finale? At any rate congrats on finishing a story and can’t wait for the next.

  17. Okay, this is the THIRD webcomic to go off-line within a year of me starting to read it.

    I hate you guys. Seriously

  18. Well though it’ll be missed it’s been a fun comic. I hope the next one you do will have a similar style and sense of humor. I still get a chuckle that when I first tripped upon here I was Rose’s age and now it’s coming to a close and I’m inching ever closer to Nate’s age…while currently on an extended stay in Kentucky. And now, hope that all works well for the plans to make a physical copy of the comic to distribute.

  19. FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-

    it was fun. 🙂

  20. I expected this. Ya know why? Because Rose and Nate fixed the original problem in the series IN the next comic you should deffently have the cast make cameos in it

  21. Noooooo…..I like this comic. D:

  22. I’m very sad to see this go, but at least it was fun. I can honestly say this is my favorite NSFW comic ever. Thanks for the laughs man.

  23. This comic was really a touch of reality of what it’s like working in a dysfunctional super market. Speaking of this from working at a Kroger’s here in the Shenandoah Valley over the years. All I can say is, I be sad as a chinese panda bear watching their cubs get slaughtered.

  24. While I wasn’t sure where else you would go with the comic after the last few strips, I was hoping you would find somewhere. Alas I’ll just have to miss reading 3 times a week.

It was one of my favorites, and thank you for your work on it.

  25. Well it’s been a good run and I’m glad that you’re doing more webcomics.
I’m being completely honest right now. I came to this website for the NSFW, but I stayed for the characters and story.
Oh and I’ve got a good feeling that Fat-Balls or whatever his name was (the blonde gamer that recently moved out ) is going to be an important part of your new comic

  26. Glad to have been aboard since the start. Can’t wait to see your future projects.

  27. Geez, I think I’ve been following this almost from the beginning! (I remember reading about two dozen strips at once to get caught up.) I too would enjoy a printed collection (POD?), and I have one request: in whatever comic you’re doing about ten years from now, I want to see a balding Nate and a somewhat disheveled Rose in the background with some kid hanging off her hip. ^_^

  28. I’m always saddened when a comic I like comes to a close. I’m glad that you are starting a new one though, can’t wait to get on board ^^

  29. We had some fun right? Great one liners and epic laughs.

I guess that you going to create a universe now.

    1. Or the same universe, with at least a couple of familiar faces…

  30. though i may have only found this comic twelve short weeks ago but it has been a good run and i am sad to see it go. though everything must end somethings are known to begin again.

  31. Been reading for a couple months now and i just wanted to thank you for the wonderful adventure you have brought me on. Can’t wait for the next one

  32. Man, at only 250+ strips, it’s like we hardly knew ye. Still, I look forward to whatever lies ahead. Kudos.

  33. I only discovered this web comic a couple of months ago but the first day I found the site, I read every single comic up til that day because of the well developed characters, the great funny story, and to see what will happen next. I’m always a little sad after every comic because I know ill have to wait a day or two til the next comic. I must say this is the best and most developed web comic Ive read. I rate it 10/10… Good luck in the next comic and I hope to see some of the old characters in the new one I would definitely buy a printed collection of the comics if you ever put one out, It has been a joy to read… and I will tell you this. Never Stop Writing…. we dont have enough good comic writers these days…. I know Ive been going on and on but Ill leave you with this..

“True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist.” – Albert Einstein

  34. It is weird how you can get attached to people who don’t even exist or to a story. It felt almost like were just getting to know them.

I really enjoyed the story, and I can’t wait read the new one. Congrats!

  35. I hope we dont get the “Rocks fall everyone dies” ending.

But i have enjoyed reading this comic

  36. Its actually quiet sad to see this end. I have been following for about a year now, and I must say I had started to develop a liking for some of the characters, mainly Rose and Aya. I will miss them, but I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

  37. Been a follower since nearly the begining, and I’m truly gonna miss these people. In the past year I’ve had four comics I followed end and at least one more ending shortly. I sincerely hope the new series takes off and maybe is a spin off of some type. Thank you for the enjoyment I’ve had in the last 8 or so years.

  38. I’ve followed this for a long while and it’s been one of my favorites. On the one hand, I’m sad to see things end for this and not have this be in my webcomic lineup. There’s a lot more to this story I think, and I’ve enjoyed where it has gone and the sort of fun its had. On the other hand, I’m excited to see what your new project is and I’ll be waiting around for the print of this.

Thanks for the laughs, lewdness, and lovable characters. Keep on it and good luck!

  39. waaaaaah! *cries*
I didn’t want it to eeeeend!!!

    *sob*
well, I’m glad to hear you’re talking about printing it.
This is by far one of the best comics I’ve read!
I look forward to seeing your next project.

  40. Fuck you!

nah, really sucks, one of my favs. can’t wait to see your new stuff.

  41. I’m glad no one tried to pull “first” comment today.

It’s a real shame that this comic ends. I extremely enjoyed reading it for quite a while now. Anyway, I salute you. For creating something this amazingly fun.

I hope that your new project will be even better, and I honestly wish you that it will be even more successful.

  42. This is so sad…but I wish you the best of luck in whatever you get up to next. I’ll definitely be a supporter.

  43. i kinda saw it coming when they finally got together. but im glad you’re continuing with another webcomic! you’ve always got a bookmark tab in my heart 🙂

  44. I think Purvous needs his own ongoing series!

  45. Always leave your audience wanting more they say. It was a fantastic run. Thanks for the laughs, agonies, and laughs. I am one of your more recent, not so vocal but dedicated followers and I will anxiously look forward to your new project. Good luck man, and keep doing it!

  46. All those FIRST posts killed it, didn’t it?

    Bastards.

  47. Well Nick, I’m a long time reader but this is the first post that I’ve felt compelled to make (I tend to like reading the other comments from everyone else….after reading the comic of course). Anyway, I just wanted to say that TG has been AWESOME! I don’t think that I have seen one of the strips yet that’s made me think ‘meh, sucks, won’t read anymore’ and of course I’ll be in the queue for the hardcopy when it becomes available. So, thanks man, for all the hard work that you’ve put in, for the time that you’ve spent, and for all the enjoyment that you have given all of us, and hopefully will continue to give us. Kudos, and ciao for now 🙂

  48. I feel so sad! This was a great comic. 🙂

  49. After reading this post Nick … HOW can I put it to words ???.

Best described as the LOOK on Nates face, just after getting kicked in the sack by Tracy !!!

Did I get the point across? ——-

(Seriously, I DO understand your logic and ‘game plan’ – rather than “going stale” for a ‘period’, SWITCH OFF and start fresh. —- But guy, THIS is gonna be a TUFF “act” to follow!

I wish you the BEST at all times, my friend!

(And, now seeing Rose’s Mom might be available, send her over?)

  50. It’s been fun. ^^ I’m glad this story has a happy ending – or at least it still looks that way.

  51. It’s a shame to see this ending, but if it is for the best, so be it.

Good luck on your next project! 🙂

    1. I’m sad that it’s over, but it was great while it lasted.

At least we can still follow you at @absurdhero on twitter to keep up with your goings on. right? RIGHT?!

Great job with this one; looking forward to your future projects!

      1. Aww, and I just found this one! Its been a great read, sincerely looking forward to your future projects.

  52. Goodnight sweet webcomic, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

  53. It’s been a great ride, thank you for it. I can’t remember if I’ve been with it since the very beginning, but it’s been more than a few years for sure.
I’ll be eagerly awaiting your next project, and I plan to follow that one from the beginning to the end. 🙂

  54. Nooooooo!!!!!!, now what will I do for my laughs? You will be sorely missed.

  55. So long, buddy. Hope your next webcomic will be up and above the level of TG.

  56. Sorry to hear that, particularly since I only just discovered this a few months ago…

Anyway, it’s nice to see a webcomic where the discontinuation is actually planned (& where hopefully there is some closure), rather than some, where you never know whether there might be another update at some point, & where the storyline has been left hanging in the air.

Good to see that Rose & Nate managed to get together in the end though 🙂

    Thanks for the comic!

  57. I will look forward to your new project, keep up the awesome work!
(If you could, please email me when your new project goes live! I’d greatly appreciate it!)

    1. Keep an eye on the TG site (or Facebook or Twitter if you prefer). Details are soon to come!

  58. Nick,
Just wanted to say that Treading Ground has been a delight, and along with many other, I will be sad to see it go. I am also looking forward to seeing what new wonders you have in store for us.
I would ask that you find a way to ensure that the story of Treading Ground remains accessible, as it deserves to be found by many new readers.

I appreciate the fact that you had a story arc, and a definite finish to the story. There are a few comics I could mention that have gone on a little too long, and as a result have lost the zip that they started with. Yours has always sparkled.

Good luck with the future endeavour,
    Colt

  59. It’s been a wild ride, looking forward to the new project
    o7

  60. I must be a curse. Only started reading this last week, love it to bits and now this!!!

  61. Thanks a whole bunch,

I know TG only since 1 year or also but it has been a fun ride !

Good luck on your new project and I’ll buy, for sure, the printed version when It’ll come out !

    Cheers and THANKS,
    paxl

  62. Farewell, TG…

Nick! I’m waiting for your next project, good luck!

  63. Since I discovered TG, it’s been on my short list of bookmarked comics. Sorry to see it go but I will check out your next step.

  64. What? I just started reading this comic two weeks ago! Augh! 🙁

Dammit, I was kinda hoping this would go on for longer. Why do I keep stumbling upon comics that are close to finishing… 🙁

  65. I really enjoyed your story. Thanks.

  66. Make sure to make the ending really NSFW, dude… Great story…

    Greetings from Mexico City…

  67. I’ve been reading this for about 6 months now and I love it. It’s a shame it’s going to end but it’s probably for the best.

Thanks for the great comic and good luck on your next project.

    Greetings from Holland.

  68. Nick, I have to congratulate you on this webcomic, and I’m glad you’re choosing to end it now before it starts to get stale. I look forward to the ending and wish you all the best with your latest project, I will definitely be following that! I’ve always looked forward to a TG update, and you’ve never disappointed. 🙂

  69. I’ve really enjoyed this comic over the past year or so, and I was just wondering, “How is he going to wrap up this story in 2 more comics.” Then it hit me! I can’t wait for Friday, and the next project! Thank you!

  70. It was a great story with good characters. I’ll read the next thing you do for sure.

  71. Well, sh#t. Thanks for such an entertaining read!

  72. Will you be making a book that chronicles the full run of Treading Ground? That would make my year!

    1. This.

      1. It’s definitely planned! Keep an eye on the site(s) for more details.

  73. Sad to see it end but I’m looking forward to your next project as well. Especially if some/all of these characters will make a return. Good luck!!

  74. Aww I love this Comic! I just hate to see it go… but I can’t wait for the next one. Good luck with everything!

  75. So, does this mean weekday updates for this weekend?

    1. *this week

      Curse this infernal dyslexia

    2. Standard M-W-F.

If I ever had the time to do weekday updates, I wouldn’t wait until my last week to do it. 🙂

      1. Point taken.

  76. Obviously, this calls for a good conspiracy theory.

Hmmm, (looks in loony cupboard), let’s see…

1 cup of alien abduction flour, (with anal probing)
    1 cup of Illuminati nuts
2 cups of New World Order meal
3 tbsp of black helicopter oil
2 tbsp JFK man-on-the-grassy-knoll extract, (with anal probing)
    1 tsp Rapture seed
    1 tsp Raptor oil
1 splinter of the True Cross (optional)

Blend all ingredients in large mixing bowl, only until moist. Preheat Fires of Hell to 2K centigrade. Bake until the 12th Imam and Jesus have both returned, (they should arrive together, but may vary with altitude).

  77. AHGAHD!
    IT’S DIGGER ALL OVER AGAIN!

  78. This was a great story and though it’s sad to see the end, at least it’s a planned ending. I can safely add this to my Completed Comics tab with pride.

I look forward to the final pages, I’m sure they’ll be excellent and wrap up the story nicely. Also, I just wanna say that I’ve enjoyed the ride and thank you for entertaining me. This is good stuff. Be proud of it.

  79. Oh… I should have expected this, judging by how things were unfolding, but still, it is hard to believe that the comic is coming to its logical end. Anyway, I am looking forward to see your future project(s)!

  80. I grew up with this webcomic. When I was like…15 or so and just starting to read webcomics in 2003 or 2004, this was one of the ones I started with. It’s been a long, on-again off-again ride (much like Nate and Rose *rimshot*) but I’ve always really enjoyed reading.

Thanks for a hell of a run. I look forward to seeing how it ends, and what comes next.

  81. I think you are seeing what you wanted instead of looking at what you have.

  82. Count us among those who discovered your comic only within the past year. Yours is among only three web comics we follow on a regular basis and we have enjoyed your comic immensely. While we are sad to see TG come to an end, based on the quality of your art and writing, we will anxiously await your next project. Thanks for everything you do!

  83. That’s the problem with these Stories-With-a-Goal. In this case, goal = Nate + Rose together. With these, it’s either…:

    A) As long as the series is active, the goal will never be reached.

    B) Series gets cancelled/interupted/abandoned before goal is achieved.

    C) Goal is finally achieved, but then author gets case of “Ok, now what?”, since series lost it’s main reason to be.

    D) Author wants to end series, so he does by finally giving us what he made us crave for years.

Sometimes, there are exceptions. In Dragonballs, Goku was able to reach his goals many times, for there was no real Status Quo. Ok, series had to end anyway, but still.

Thanks for those 10 weeks of fun. (Yep, discovered the comic in mid-april 2011) Thanks for the inspiration (I’m writing a webnovel, and one of the character has a little Rose in her) I’ll be looking for your next projects.

    1. You forgot:

      E) Batman

  84. I first came across this comic about a year ago. Didn’t bother actually reading it until last February though. Still, once I really got into it I found myself enamored with the lives of Nate and company. I found myself looking forward to the colorful commenters and thinking of this site almost like some sort of digital clubhouse. I just want to say how much this comic and it’s characters meant to me as a person. I actually felt genuine concern for those involved. And the fact that they live in my state helps too. Anyway, thanks for the great read. I’ll definitely be reading your next project.

  85. Sorry that it’s ending but looking forward to seeing what comes next. It’s been an interesting run and a lot of fun with the referrences.

  86. very sad to see it go 🙁 i’ve been reading it since its inception and i really enjoyed it but hopefully its for the best. will you maintain the website so the comics are available? either way i cant wait to see what you plan to do next.

  87. Last

    (Someone has to start it)

  88. Oh my god! I’ve only recently discovered this too, The fact that you’re going to be ending this so soon after I discovered it saddens me.

But, all good things must end, and it’s far better to end them on your own terms than continuing for the sake of others and have it fizzle out.

Best of luck, and I’ll see you on your next project!

  89. Hmm…yeah, it’s hard for me to think of webcomics “finishing”; everything I’ve ever read was either already finished or is still going strong with no signs of ending, with maybe the occasional one that ended up dying out the undignified way. I haven’t been reading terribly long, but it’s been fun.

  90. I just found you and the comic is ending? I guess i shouldn’t complain about things I don’t pay for but yeah.

Good luck on your future endeavors!

  91. I seriously only just found this comic last month… dangit

  92. Oh man… it’s over already? It feels like I just barely got into the story…

Well, I had fun! This just means one less webcomic I’ll have to worry about keeping up with.

  93. I am glad that your finshing your comic. Works of any kind are always ment to be finshed leaving a work unfished reaks of two things one a blatent cash grap in the comics industry or the lack of the luster that orginally started the project.

I am afraid you won’t have everything wraps up though.
Though it may have the orginal concept finshed there is alot more that you have unfinish and I am not sure a single comic will do it. Even though this is how life is one thing finshes wile many go on.

I feel I will be wondering about the other members of the cast. Though hinted at will Miranda find someone? Tracy never seemed to be that bitchy when she was orginally with Nate what happened? Aiyana I feel has been screwed by the story, while everyone else has reached out for even a touch of happiness she has remained untouched in both heart and body. Also Trevor’s last encounter raises more questions than it answers.

No asking for a pretty little bow would be nice but I would like to have an idea of what is happening with everything and unless it’s a big one I feel I will forever wonder at times.

  94. Knowing this comic had a planned end and feeling it wind down I kinda got the feeling that it was nearing the end but I never imaged it would end so soon…
Anyways its been a nice run, look forward to your next comic.

  95. Nick, it’s been a great run. Thanks so much for all the enjoyment your comic has brought me. I’ll look forward to the start of your other projects!

  96. That Styx song Don’t Let It End is playing in my head as I really like the comic but I’m glad you get to end it when you want to and move on to something new. I can’t wait to see what it is

  97. Knowing when to end a good story is the sign of an author’s greatness…

Thanks for everything and good luck for the rest!

  98. I am a sad panda for this. I only just found TG two weeks ago, and after reading through it, fell in metaphorical love. BUUUUT as long as I see Purvous somewhere again, I’ll live.

  99. Very few comics actually get an ending. My first comic is still lacking an ending, and I’m sure Space will probably get screwed out of one as well, but congratulations on being able to move on to another project and not dragging it on too long like some other comics do (MegaTokyo comes to mind). Can’t wait to see what’s next!

  100. Sad to see this end but good luck with your future projects, will probably end up followingthe new one you’ve mentioned haha

    1. I think this is necessary.

      http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/

      1. I second that… I do… not only is this like I gave birth to my own destruction, but also like I just cut off his jerk off hand… and thusly enabled a continuation of the cycle…

  101. All your hard work on TG has really shown in your loyal readership. I look forward to your next comic!

  102. I’ll miss TG, but I’ll be following to your next comic!

  103. Thanks so much for sharing your story, Nick. It’s great! Looking forward to your future projects, and just let us know when we can get TG in print. 🙂

  104. I have started reading the comic because I misclicked a link from another site and was hooked immediatly. There is something very compelling about these characters and the decisions that they make.

I’m very sad to see this end and will look forward to your next project.
Thanks for brightening my Monday, Wed and Friday.

  105. A really great, fun, comic to read. I’ll miss it.

  106. Wow – a bit blind sided, even though some commenters have predicted this decision. Anyway, great comic that will be missed. Can’t wait for your new one to take off as I am sure it will.

  107. Aw man. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to keep an eye out for the new stuff then, eh?

  108. Sorry to see TG go and I think it was really hitting stride. I think there was a lot of room to go personally, but its your story, so tell it like you want.

  109. Hell of a ride, man. Hell of a ride. 🙂

  110. I just wanted to thank you for putting out this comic on the off-days, it’s been a pleasure to read and I look forward to your next story 🙂

  111. Late to the show, but better late than never. Great art, good story, can’t wait for the next arc. So very glad I was brought to the site.

  112. Only recently started reading this, and it’s ending this week?

I predict the final entry will be a 3way, Nate + Rose + Purvous in the cinema.

  113. Wow… i just started reading about 2 months ago… lucky me :'(

now i gotta find another epic webcomic to read. It’s so hard to find stuff that’s not only interesting to read, but well drawn. Well… i mean, that’s to say it’s hard to find that stuff that’s still going. Platinum Grit is awesome, but it’s not being made anymore 🙁

Quick! Tell us what the next one is, so i can put it on my iGoogle page. 😉

  114. Well, I have to say that I’ll be sorry to see this comic go. It’s been a solid work and it’s been one of the webcomics that I’ve most looked forward to updates on. I’ll be sure to check out your next one.

  115. Been reading since you came back after the long pause and have to say you’ve done a hell of a job man. Can’t wait for the next one!

  116. I just found this strip a few months ago. It’s been one heck of a ride with these characters. and You’ve done some spectacular work. TG was hitting its stride, and I’ll be sad to see it end, But I’m eager to see what you have up next!

  117. Loved reading your strip, it has kept me laughing and and always looking forward to the next one. Thank you for sharing this with us.

  118. Thank you for that great comic-strip, I enjoyed reading it very much and laughed very often 🙂

    Greetings from Germany
    AEL

  119. I haven’t been here that long, but I really enjoyed the comic. I wish you luck on your next project, and I will be there every step of the way 🙂

  120. It does seem that the end was coming, hard to know where you were going once the threads had been pretty much resolved. I am happy for your characters, and would love to see them somewhere else. I too found your work late, and have enjoyed it very much. Thank you for this!

  121. I am going to miss seeing what happens to all these crazy cast members. At lest you are going to be doing more comics and will definitely be reading those.

  122. D: This comic was so good, I’m gonna miss it :'(

You can be sure I’ll follow the other one(s) though! Your style is sooooo awesome! Keep up the good work and good luck on that project 😀

  123. Man, I am really going to miss Treading Ground. Boththe writing and the art have only continued to improve over time. I hate to see it go.

Thanks for sharing the story with us! I suppose that we’ll have to be satisfied with fanfic from now on…

  124. Aw man. I’ve been with this comic since ’07. I’mma miss it.

Oh well, artist’s need their creative space. Good luck with your future work.

  125. Thank you so much for the time and dedication on creating this comics and as for myself, am glad it is coming to an end, to the point where I finally get to see what happens to the characters.

I think if this kept going for much much longer, we would have lost interest and not have continued following this or other future comics.

I will definately follow the spinoff of this comic.

  126. I’ve been reading for about a year now and you do have a knack for creating real personalities. It’s easy to care about your characters. I do hope what you say about continuing these characters and doing more comics works out. Good work.

  127. We wish you well on your future ventures.

    Good Luck and God Speed

  128. Do us a favor then and put it in a book 🙂

  129. Aww, I feel like I’ve only just gotten into this comic and to hear that it’s going to be ending so soon, I feel sort of let down… But I’ll definitely follow the next project if it maintains the same sort of quality writing I’ve come to enjoy here. 🙂

  130. As a reader, this upsets me greatly. There were so many characters that I wanted to see flushed out, with more stories or even secondary strips. I only accidentally discovered your comic a few months ago, but I managed to catch up on it all in about a week, which really speaks volumes to how compelling your characters and writing was (is).
As an artist though, I can appreciate when you feel as though something’s run it’s course, and has wound down to the end you wanted. So good luck with the future strips, and I look forward to seeing them.

    1. Inteleligcne and simplicity – easy to understand how you think.

  131. Bon Voyage treading grounds! was funny…

    wait see your new projects.

  132. …and Treading Ground closes it’s doors on the same day as the US space program…coincidence, I think not.

  133. I’d really like to see more of Aya. Hoping any new comic contains more of her. She is a funny character.

  134. Draw some redhead jubblies first :V

  135. As the launch of IS is in a few hours, I just wanted to say thanks for the past year. It’s been a pleasure since that first day that Tracy banner — yes, I was one of those — brought me here, and I instantly had to statrt from the beginning and go through the archived years that first night only to find quite an entertaining storyline. It was also cool seeing how your art has progressed over the years. I’m also glad you listened to the readers in keeping to the three-a-week, colored strips (Daily, but black and white? That was a close one!) I look forward to adding the TG book to my collection, and seeing what IS has in store.

  136. thanks for some great laughs mate. look forward to your new work!
